Notification for appointment of meritorious sports persons in the cadres of postal assistant sporting assistant, postman mail guard, and multi-tasking staff in Gujara circle issued vide notification hereby canceled due to unavoidable reasons further the fresh notification for appointment of meritorious sports persons under sports quota for the same number of vacancies with same eligibility criteria as were in the earlier notification

  1. Minimum 12th standard passed or equivalent qualification from a recognized  board or university 
  2. The candidates will be required to furnish at least 60 days duration basic computer training certificates from a recognized computer training institute before issuance of an appointment letter computer training certificates from the central government /state government/university/board etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose this requirement of basic computer knowledge certificates shall be relaxable in the case where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or Class -XII or higher educational qualification and is such cases separate certificates will not be insisted upon
  3. Sports qualification as per para 7 of the notification

Educational Qualification
  1. Minimum 12th standard pass from a recognized board
  2. Knowledge of local language i.e. GUJARATI the candidates should have studied the local language 
  3. The candidates will be required to furnish at least 60 days duration basic computer training certificate from a recognized computer training institute before issuance of the appointment letter computer training certificates from the central government /state government /university/board etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose the requirement has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or Class XII or higher educational qualification and in such cases, a separate certificate will not be insisted upon
  4. The person appointed to the post of postman shall acquire a driving license to drive two wheeler o three wheeler or light motor vehicle within a period of two years from the date of his appointment however the person with a disability shall be exempted from the requirement of driving license
  5. The candidates not having a valid driving license at the time of appointment shall not earn a periodical increment in pay till the production of such license or for a period of five years from the date of appointment whichever is earlier and after the production of such license or expiry of such five years period pa shall be restored prospectively to the level pay would have reached as if periodical increment in pay was not withheld and no arrears shall be paid for the intervening period

  3. Sports qualification as per para 7 of the notification 

Selection mode:

  1. All those candidates who fulfill the educational qualification and age criteria shall be eligible for inclusion in the merit list to the extent of the number of vacancies notified for each post
  2. Candidature shall be considered only for those pos for which candidates fulfill the educational qualification and age criteria
  3. Merit list shall be prepared only on the basis of a certificate in the form 

How to apply:

  1. The application shall be submitted through online mode only at the website of the department 
  2. Before submitting the application ion the candidates should carefully read the notification containing eligibility conditions and satisfy /herself that he/she fulfills all the eligibility conditions for the post for which he /she intends to apply candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling out the online application candidates are advised to carefully go through instruction  to candidates as at Annexure – I before initiating the process of submitting the application
  3. If any candidate has participated in two different sports at the same level he /she may give such details 
  4. If the prescribed /required documents are not submitted along with the application his /her application will be rejected outright and the request for submission of revised /additional documents for the revival of candidature shall not be considered
  5. Before submission of the online application candidates must check that they have filled correct details in each field of the form and have submitted /uploaded all required documents in original after submission of the online application form with no changes/corrections. the modification should be allowed under any circumstances request received in this regard in any form shall not be entered therefore candidates are advised to exercise utmost care while submitting the application

  1. The vacancies notified here are subject to change without assigning any reason and the department reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process if so warranted the department will not be liable to return the fee or pay any compensation for the applicant’s application
  2. The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in Gujarat Circle as and when required at the sole discretion of the appointing authority once the request for transfer will  be as per existing rules
